Session 6-Leveraging Quality 5.0

Dr. N Ravichandran

Profile

Dr. N Ravichandran,

Chief Mentor, UCAL Fuel Systems Limited

His reflections on the evolution of quality — from accident to inspection, assurance, prevention, perfection, and ultimately creation — provided a powerful framework that deeply resonated with all participants. Through inspiring anecdotes drawn from Sony, Lucas TVS, and timeless examples from India’s rich cultural heritage, he illustrated how excellence must be engineered into design and embedded into culture.

By linking quality with imagination, emphasizing prevention over inspection, and reaffirming belief in human capability, he left a lasting impression on the audience. His perspective on Quality 5.0 — as a living culture of continuous change that integrates innovation, sustainability, technology, and human-centric practices — set the tone for the session and inspired a forward-looking mindset.

By drawing parallels from India’s scientific and cultural legacy, he reminded everyone that our greatest strengths lie in imagination, adaptability, and the courage to create. NIQR is privileged to have benefited from Dr. Ravi’s leadership, wisdom, and inspiration, and looks forward to his continued association in advancing quality and reliability across industries and society.

Ms. Vishakha Hari

Profile

Ms. Vishakha Hari,

Founder, Vijayashri School of Harikatha

Her talk beautifully highlighted how timeless principles from India’s Bharatiya civilization — drawn from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavad Gita, and Panchatantra — offer profound guidance for modern quality management. Through these enduring texts, she illuminated how leadership, teamwork, continuous improvement, and ethical conduct are not new-age concepts but deeply rooted in our cultural and spiritual traditions.

Her interpretation of Krishna as the charioteer, Arjuna’s guidance, and the contrast between Indraprastha and Hastinapura exemplified that true quality lies in intention, dharma, and process rather than in outcomes alone. Her emphasis on foresight, risk vigilance, delegation, and humility reinforced that sustainable quality demands both discipline and awareness.

Through her use of anecdotes, stories, and songs, she conveyed that quality transcends products and services — it embodies the holistic well-being of individuals, society, and nature. The principles she highlighted — detached attachment, self-discipline, truth, and integrity — form a timeless framework for excellence in both professional and personal life.

NIQR is privileged to have received Ms. Visaka’s insightful perspectives, which enriched participants’ understanding of quality as a 360-degree concept — encompassing products, people, and the cosmos. Her session will continue to inspire and guide all who attended for years to come.

Mr. Balachandar, NIQR Chennai Branch coordinated the session.
